What better way to introduce a winery than with a love story? La Fralluca is the perfect blend of Francesca + Luca.

This charming couple met in 1998 while working in the fashion industry in Milan. United by their shared passion for wine and a dream of starting a family, they decided to leave city life behind and move to Tuscany. After three years of searching, they found their perfect plot of land in the wine appellation of Suvereto, coastal Tuscany—falling in love all over again, but this time with the land itself.

Their dream property spans 45 hectares on a hilltop overlooking Monteverdi Marittimo. The land includes 10 hectares of vineyards, 15 hectares of woods, 2 hectares of olive trees, and 18 hectares of pasture. Situated at a higher elevation and sheltered from the sea by surrounding hills, the property stands apart from its neighbors in the appellation, offering a unique microclimate.

La Fralluca’s vineyards, planted in 2005 and 2006, stretch across three adjacent hills, allowing Luca and Francesca to select the perfect exposures for their vines. They chose to plant traditional local varieties like Sangiovese, Vermentino, and Alicante Bouschet, alongside international grapes like Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Viognier.

Built almost entirely underground, the winery utilizes a natural depression to maintain ideal aging conditions, with temperature-controlled fermentation tanks and a dedicated barrel room in the coolest part of the cellar. Francesca and Luca’s hands-on approach ensures that every bottle expresses the purity and elegance of Suvereto’s terroir.

Luca and Francesca love nothing more than sharing the dream they’ve turned into reality. You’ll often find them welcoming guests to their picturesque patio under the pergola, inviting everyone to experience the beauty and flavors of their wines.
